133-05-29-15 – Airing CPAP Device

Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs!

Individuals who have sleep apnea don’t wear their CPAP masks as often as they’re supposed to. This is likely because of the CPAP’s cumbersome design. Fortunately, there is a revolutionary device being introduced, called Airing, that aims to replace the traditional CPAP.

Airing is different from the standard CPAP in several ways. First, it is cordless, hoseless and battery-powered, thus liberating users from the mess of cords and hoses traditionally found on a CPAP. Secondly, CPAP masks need to be cleaned constantly; this is not true with Airing, as the device is designed for one use only and is recyclable. To learn more, go to www.fundairing.com.
