Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs!
Need to listen to printed text at school, during a test, at work, or at home?  The Claro ScanPen is an app that allows users to take a picture of text and have it read aloud to them.  It gives access to printed materials and documents for all individuals, in a variety of languages.
To use the app, simply take a photo of printed text.  Then, highlight the text you want read aloud using your finger or stylus.  You can either scan word by word or line by line.  Claro ScanPen will then instantly read the text back to you.
In my opinion, one of the biggest features of the app is that it doesn’t require any internet connection.  This allows users to use the app anytime, anywhere!
The app is available to download for both Apple and Android devices.  Visit claro-apps.com to learn more! https://www.claro-apps.com/claro-scanpen/
