EvoAssist Consolidates Home Assistive Technology Devices into one Gadget

EvoAssist can facilitate numerous everyday tasks through infra red and RF radio controls including answering telephones, opening curtains, raising alarms, unlocking doors and changing television stations.  Previously, people with home automation systems may have need multiple devices to control their environment. With this iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad application, device control can be combined into one gadget for more convenience. This upgrade to a stylish and modern Apple product creates a multi-function controller in a widely understood platform.

In addition to controlling via touch screen, external switches can also beused to connect to the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to meet the needs of all users.  Controls have the capability to be displayed using texts or icons and can be viewed on a larger screen (like a computer monitor or television) for users who are visually impaired.  The application also has a feature that allows users to select pre-recorded phrases so it can be used as a basic communication device.

The application was designed to integrate seamlessly into the user’s life. It’s also purposefully a mainstream device, to make users feel more independent.

RSLSteeper is the creator of the application, so EvoAssist is designed specifically for the company’s products. RSLSteeper is headquartered in United Kingdom and provides assistive technology, prosthetic and orthotic solutions.  The organization works with the British National Health Service to provide clinical and manufacturing services to allow users to lead active lives at home, at work and in the community.
