How It Works
The BrailleDoodle features a slate-style tablet with hundreds of holes and movable magnetic pins. These pins can be raised or lowered using a magnetic stylus, allowing users to create tactile shapes and letters — similar to how sighted children might draw or write on paper. On one side of the device is a freehand “Doodle” area, where users can create tactile art or explore basic shapes and lines. On the other side is the braille side, featuring rows of cells where children can practice forming braille letters.
This interactive design supports both creative expression and structured learning. As children doodle or write with the stylus, they receive immediate tactile feedback — helping to reinforce spatial awareness, hand coordination, and braille literacy.
