The Original Time Timer is a great example of how assistive technology doesn’t have to be advanced or elaborate to be effective. A quaint, clocklike device, this tool is a 60-minute visual countdown timer designed for individuals or small groups with a red disk display for easy time tracking. Featuring a magnetic back and foldable feet, it can go anywhere, making it ideal for use at home, in classrooms, or at the office.
The Original Time Timer has a manual operating function, allowing users to easily set the desired time. The red panel then disappears as time passes.
According to Christen Barbercheck with the Time Timer team, the device has been “clinically proven to increase self-regulation and focus, while also proving to decrease anxiety associated with transitioning from one activity to the next.” In fact, the device’s inventor Jan Rogers created the Time Timer because her “youngest child struggled to make transitions from one daily routine to another.”
Choose Your Size
The Time Timer comes in three different sizes. The 12” comes with a complimentary 3×3 Dry Erase Activity Card that can be placed on top of the timer in its spot for an easy way to view schedules or time-to-task management. If you want more Activity Cards, they are available for purchase on the Time Timer website.

Proven to Help
With its many features, the Time Timer has been through years of research and experience and is trusted by educators. The magnetic back allows for the largest Time Timer to be used on Whiteboards, lockers, refrigerators, file cabinets and more.
The Time Timer has no loud ticking, letting users thrive in quiet zones and sound-sensitive environments. There is even an optional alert at the end of the time that can be turned on or off depending on the user.
