TextExpander
I have been writing for the INDATA Project for over six years now. (Wow how time flies!) One of my favorite tools that I use daily is TextExpander. According to the program’s website, TextExpander is “your productivity multiplier, a knowledge base from which you communicate quickly and accurately across your devices.”
As an individual with muscular dystrophy, I get fatigued rather easily. This program allows me to insert just a snippet or abbreviation, and it automatically fills out the rest!
For example, when I am in the studio producing Accessibility Minute, my intro and outro are the same each week. Instead of copying and pasting, I simply type “;hey”. Whenever I type “;hey” TextExpander automatically inserts:
Hey there! Welcome to Accessibility Minute, your weekly look at Assistive Technology, those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs!
