Many people would agree that the iPhone has changed the way the world thinks of smart phones. Did you know that the iPhone and other devices like the iPad and some iPods have built in speech output to allow people who are blind or visually impaired to use them? Voice Over is a program that is built into the iPhone Operating System – or IOS – and allows people who are blind or visually impaired to dial the phone, surf the web, check email or even take photographs more independently. The phone simply reads what is on the screen.
