PLEXTALK Pocket DAISY Player / Recorder

The PLEXTALK Pocket Daisy Player is a device designed for individuals with visual impairments or people who are blind. This product offers users a wide range of options. The recorder can play music, read books, and keep memos even when you’re on the move! This device is small, compact, and lightweight. It’s only 2 inches x 4 inches and under 4 ounces. This makes the PLEXTALK Pocket Daisy Recorder portable and easy to transport throughout your day’s activities.

The PLEXTALK Pocket recorder can play a wide selection of file types such as audio and text based: DAISY, MP3, WMA (unprotected), WAV, (PCM formats), AMR-WB+ Ogg Vorbis, Audible Format 4, CDs (CD-DA), (External USB CD/DVD Drive), text, HTML, Word, and many more.

This device allows users to record a workplace meeting or a classroom lecture from the PLEXTALK Pocket recorder’s built-in microphone. Or, if the user prefers to use their own personal microphone, the recorder allows that as well. The recorder offers Wi-Fi, radio, and podcasting capabilities. Users can easily save phone numbers, deadlines, and reminders by recording voice memos. Additionally, the user can add headings to the recording and use them to navigate as they play back. It’s as simple as that!

One of the best features of the PLEXTALK Pocket is that due to wireless LAN, the user can share files between their PC and the PLEXTALK Pocket without using a USB cable. In addition, PLEXTALK Pocket can identify text-based files inside an SD card or USB memory card.

From there it can read the files using a built-in text-to-speech engine. The device comes equipped with a 2GB SD card, however if needed it can manage up to a 32GB SD card. The PLEXTALK Pocket battery is powered for up to 10 hours of playback or recording. PLEXTALK Pocket is Compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7. The introductory price through November 30, 2012 will be $275. Regular prices for PLEXTALK Pocket will run at $340.
