Hi folks. Welcome to “Accessibility Minute”, your weekly look at Assisitive Technology—those clever tools and devices designed to help people who have difficulties with vision, mobility, hearing or other special needs.
Video modeling is a technique to help people with autism and other certain intellectual disabilities to better learn to do tasks. These can range from activities of daily living like getting ready for school, or job tasks with more complex steps. Video modeling relies on a video recording of the person completing the task with or without prompting and then relying on that video at a later time to be able to complete the tasks using that video for support. With the falling price of hand held video cameras and portable video playback systems, like the iPod touch, video modeling is becoming a more common and useful tool for independence
