Do you love technology and helping people? Easter Seals Crossroad is hiring an Assistive Technology Specialist! We’re based in Indianapolis and growing our team. Assistive technology is assistive, adaptive, and rehabilitative devices for people with disabilities. It also includes the process of selecting, locating, and using these devices. AT promotes greater independence by enabling people to perform tasks that they were formerly unable to accomplish, or had great difficulty accomplishing, by providing enhancements to, or changing methods of interacting with, the technology needed to accomplish such tasks. Assistive technology is used by people who have both physical and cognitive disabilities.
The person filling this position will provide training, installation, custom set-up and configuration of adaptive computer technology for people with disabilities. Our specialists travel independently state-wide and to set up, demonstrate and teach people who to use assistive technology. The ability to install computer equipment is required. Experience with disabilities, assistive technology, job accommodations and computer access is strongly preferred. Bachelors degree or commensurate experience are required. ATP certification is preferred.
