Attainment Big Button Communicators

For individuals with difficulty communicating or who cannot communicate at all, there are several technology options to help.  One of these options is the Big Button Communicator, which allows users to communicate without lifting their hands from the table.

The Big Button features a transparent cap with an opening big buttonto quickly slide in overlays.  The Button has two modes: single message and tap-to-talk mode.  In single message mode, users get one sounding message, whereas in the tap-to-talk mode, the user can choose one of up to three messages, controlled by the number of button taps (comparable to single or double-clicking a computer mouse).  One button tap plays the first message, two taps play the second messages, and three taps play the third.  The Button provides a single 48-second message plus three 24-second messages in the tap-to-talk mode.

There is also another option available: Big Button with Steps and Levels.  This also features two modes: steps and levels.  In the steps mode, users record three activities, each with up to 10 6-second steps.  After recording, users select an activity and the user plays the steps in a sequence, one by one.  An LCD indicates the activity and step number.  The level mode gives users an additional ten distinct messages.  The message remains the same until users change the level.
