MagniLink TAB Offers Mobile Vision Solution

Manufactured by Low Vision International, the MagniLink TAB is a new mobile tablet that “sets a new quality standard in tablet solutions for the visually impaired.”

Foldable, lightweight and simple to set up, this device is as easy to use as a laptop in a coffee shop. The tablet has a touchscreen with low-vision adapted buttons, allowing users to zoom in and out, take photos and record video.

In a classroom setting, the MagniLink allows them to customize their learning experience, capturing a closer view of the instructor or whiteboard with the external high-definition camera and magnifying classroom reading material with the internal camera. Modeled after a Microsoft Surface Pro, the tablet has Internet access as well.

The MagniLink TAB has low-vision adapted buttons, allowing users to zoom in and out, take photos and record video.

With text-to-speech (TTS) and optical character recognition (OCR) software, the tablet reads text aloud for maximum ease of use. Several different viewing modes are available for increased reading speed, reading endurance or more relaxed reading.

In addition to TTS and OCR, the tablet has AI functionality, enabling users to interact more with reading material — whether that means having it summarized, asking questions, etc.

The MagniLink Tab is currently available through INDATA’s Equipment Lending Library. For more information about this device, click here.
