The Calf Based Toe Lifter is a toe lifter orthosis designed for individuals with foot drop. Foot drop is defined as the inability to difficulty to move your ankle or toes upward. It’s a deviation from standard walking in which the forefoot drops. This happens due to weakness, damage to the peroneal nerve or paralysis of the muscles in the anterior portion of the lower leg. It is usually a symptom from a greater physical limitation and not a disability in itself.

The Calf Based Toe Lifter is a piece of assistive technology that is designed to help prevent foot drop and to control inversion. A cuff attaches below the knee with an adjustable strap extending to the toe with another strap around the toe of the shoe. The cuff is held together with hook and loop closures that enable one-handed application. It is latex free.
