Power of 9 App

If you’re looking for a math app to help your child or student learn and practice the properties of the number 9, check out the Power of 9.  According to the App Store’s description, the Power of 9 is an app that is “a math improvement system.”  It teaches many interesting properties around this specific number.

One neat feature about this app is that players follow a linear path, making it easier to navigate for children as young as 3 years of age.  According to Google Play, children will learn about “FOIL and parenthesis, exponent, multiplication, division, addition, and/or subtraction.”

In addition to teaching students all about the number 9, they’ll also learn about how to check for errors — without using a calculator.  Here’s more from the Educational App Store:

The Power of 9 App is well presented for use on a phone-sized device. The text and built-in number pad are easy to read and use.  Focussing on such a niche aspect of maths is very unusual for apps. The app’s first level is largely based on the nine times table; while the later levels become increasingly complex and challenge the user’s mental arithmetic considerably.”
