One of summer’s best pastimes is blasting friends and family with water in the backyard. But for people with limited mobility, pumping the barrel or pulling the trigger of a water gun can be difficult.
Adaptive Tech Solutions offers a switch-adapted water gun that allows users to “soak their friends, water flowers, or make watercolor art with the push of a button.”

Once you connect the switch to the gun’s built-in jack and press the button, the gun lights up and shoots water until the button is released. You can hold it down to release a sustained stream or press it repeatedly to release shots of water in rapid-fire succession. This puts everyone on the same playing field when it comes to water wars in the backyard.
Users can also easily mount this product to a wheelchair. They can learn from it as well. In this case, the water gun’s switch activation is a clear demonstration of cause and effect, as it “helps learners understand that the action they made (pressing the switch) is directly related to the outcome (the gun shooting water).”
