LOGAN TECH LOGAN PROXPAD

Logan ProxPAD

Last year, I wrote about the Logan ProxTalker from Logan Tech.  If you’re unfamiliar with the ProxTalker, it is an adaptable alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) device.  Another available product from the company is the Logan ProxPAD.

According to its description, the Logan ProxPAD is:

“A single location communication and learning aid for persons with physical, visual, or cognitive impairments and require tangible objects or other site cues to initiate communication.”

It uses RFID (radio frequency identification) and gives a voice output and responds to touch or proximity frequency. The Touch mode requires your hand or sound tag to make contact with the blue surface of the ProxPAD, while the Proximity mode allows you to swipe the sound card about the surface making it ideal for persons with limited mobility.
