The Scanmarker Pro Simplifies Reading

The Scanmarker Pro

With school back in session, now is a great time to consider tools for students with dyslexia or other reading needs. One of the most lightweight, portable and easy ones out there is the Scanmarker Pro. Like a highlighter, users drag the pen-like device over any text to digitally read it aloud at their own pace. Each word is highlighted on the device’s screen during the scanning and reading process.

Unlike other Scanmarker products, the Pro doesn’t require a computer or mobile app to read text back to its users. Rather, the digital highlighter pen features built-in Wi-Fi, which can instantly translate text into 89+ languages online and five offline — English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

The Scanmarker Pro translates text into many languages.

The Pro comes equipped with natural-sounding voices embedded directly into the device, eliminating the need for a computer connection. The ability for users to customize their reading experience with different languages, voices and reading speeds makes it an especially invaluable tool for English as a Second Language (ESL) students.

The Pro also features a built-in Collins English Dictionary, which allows users to look up definitions and pronunciations of various words, which they can then save for future reference.

During class, students can scan their handwritten notes and export them as a .txt file to their PC via USB. The device can also record voice notes.
