INDATA Supports Noble Art Center’s Grand Opening with Accessible Art Technology

Ribbon Cutting at Noble Art CenterWe were honored to attend the Grand Opening of Noble Art Center on Thursday, October 30, 2025, a new Therapeutic Art Center located in downtown Speedway, Indiana. The event was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony officiated by Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett and Wade Wingler, CEO of Noble.

To support Noble Art Center’s mission, INDATA has provided an accessible art table to allow for device demonstrations at their Adult Day Services program. Thisaccessible table program serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, offering opportunities to build social skills, explore new interests, and express creativity through art and music.

Easterseals Crossroads, through its INDATA Project, operates an Assistive Technology Equipment Lending Library for individuals with disabilities and their families, as well as service providers, employers, and other interested parties. Device loans help individuals make informed decisions about the assistive technology they might use at work, school, home, or play. Devices available through the library support a variety of needs, including visual, cognitive, hearing, mobility, learning, and other disabilities.

In addition, device demonstrations are available to people with disabilities and their families, as well as anyone interested in learning how these devices work, including providers of education, health, and related services. Device demonstrations help:

  • Increase understanding of the types of devices that can help with specific needs, such as talking on the telephone or reading mail.

  • Improve knowledge of a device’s features, and how those features differ from other devices that perform similar functions.

  • Increase understanding of how devices can help at work, in school, at home, and in the community.

The accessible art table provided to Noble Art is an Uplift V2 adjustable desk, which raises and lowers to accommodate wheelchair users, ensuring everyone can comfortably participate. The station is also equipped with several pieces of assistive technology to make art creation more accessible:

  • Guided Hands – a mechanical assistive device that enables individuals with limited hand mobility to write, draw, paint, and use touchscreens. It uses magnetically tuned mass damping technology to counteract tremors, instantly stabilizing the user’s hand.

  • Writing Bird – a comfortable adaptive writing tool that securely holds a pen or pencil, allowing users to write or draw with minimal effort.

  • Kirkas LED Magnifying Lamp and 10x Magnifier – provide enhanced lighting and magnification for artists with low vision.

  • Ergo Arm Rest – offers ergonomic support for individuals with limited strength or mobility in their arms and wrists.

Adjustable Universal Stand – allows users to position a tablet or phone for reference images or tutorials while creating art.

The new Noble Art facility, located in the former Speedway United Methodist Church preschool, features an art studio, art gallery, and teaching kitchen. It now serves as the headquarters for Noble’s therapeutic art program, fostering creativity, self-expression, and inclusion for artists with disabilities.
